The author starts with herself, her dad's important job, her thoughts while writing the book. Then she asserts her interpretation of the cases she has seen, supporting her theories with hand-picked anecdotes and weaves eloquently theories together. It's very skillful writing and very convincing. The only problem is that such approach is completely unscientific and that psychoanalysts employ their unverified hypotheses to "treat" patients, with unpredictable outcomes. One striking trait of their theories is to find a conceptual cause for everything, when only a quarter of the brain deals with those. For example, the author interprets premature orgasm as a longing to restore the distance between lovers. Wouldn't excessive sensitivity or excitability be a more simple neurophysiological hypothesis?Eloquent pseudoscience, a well-written bad model. Should display a warning.
